What is the meaning of Dunki?
Ever since the title of this film was announced, there has been a lot of discussion about its name. Recently, Shahrukh himself told that Dunki means staying away from loved ones. It is noteworthy that people from all parts of the country want to go abroad in search of a better life. But, when they are unable to get visa, some of them resort to pigeon hopping i.e. donkey route. People who go abroad illegally are colloquially called Dunki.

Advance booking of movies
Fans were eagerly waiting for the release of both the films ‘Dunki’ and ‘Salaar’. Where Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ is being released only in Hindi. Prabhas’s ‘Salaar’ is going to release in five languages. Advance booking of both the films has also started. According to the report of Sacnilk, 4,31,339 tickets of Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ have been sold and through advance booking, the film has done a business of Rs 12.13 crore before its release. Will the opening of ‘Dinky’ be higher than ‘Gadar 2’?
If the word of mouth of ‘Dunki’ turns out to be solid then it will easily make an opening collection in the range of Rs 40 crores. In such a situation, it can leave behind the opening collection of Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Gadar 2’ (Rs 40.10 crore) and the film ‘Bahubali 2’ (Rs 41 crore).
Last two films
Talking about Shahrukh Khan’s previous two films, while the film ‘Pathan’ had collected a net collection of Rs 57 crore on the first day, the film ‘Jawaan’ had brought a net collection of Rs 75 crore on the first day. Both these films had made the record of the biggest Bollywood opening on the day of their respective releases. Compared to these, the opening of ‘Dunki’ may be looking good, but despite not being in the masala-action-gangster zone, an opening of Rs 35-40 crore is a big thing for a film.
