Take action against criminal elements for free and fair elections

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan on Monday reviewed the preparations being made to conduct the Assembly Elections 2023 in a free, fair, uninterrupted and peaceful manner in Gwalior-Chambal division of Madhya Pradesh. Collector and Superintendent of Police gave information about the preparations. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that the Assembly elections 2023 should be conducted in a free, fair, hassle-free and peaceful manner and strict action should be taken against people with criminal tendencies in every assembly constituency under NSA and other restrictive sections including District Badar. Said while reviewing the preparations. So that confidence can be established among the common voters and they can use their franchise fearlessly.

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan directed to organize voter awareness activities on a large scale to increase the voting percentage. He said that 24-hour special surveillance should be maintained at inter-state and inter-district checkpoints. Seize money, liquor, other drugs, illegal weapons and objectionable materials by conducting operations. All investigation teams should work fully prepared and alert. Instructions were given to make additional security arrangements in polling stations of vulnerable areas. By running special voter awareness campaigns in vulnerable areas, assure people that the police and administration are ready for their safety.

Install CCTV cameras inside and outside sensitive and ultra-sensitive polling stations.

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that concrete arrangements should be made for web casting of sensitive and ultra-sensitive polling stations. In such polling stations, CCTV cameras should be installed inside as well as outside as per requirement. Instructions were given to establish polling centers run by women and disabled officers and employees in every assembly constituency. The convenience of women polling personnel should be taken care of.

Operate voter help-desk number 1950 promptly.

Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan gave instructions to promptly operate the voter help-desk number 1950 established in the districts. Every call coming from voters at the helpdesk should be attended and the voter’s problem should also be resolved. Take consent from those elders above 80 years of age who want to vote from home by filling Form-12D. Similarly, facilities are to be provided to voters with more than 40 percent disability. In polling stations where there are more than 1500 voters, auxiliary polling stations will be created to facilitate the voters to cast their votes conveniently.
