Chhattisgarhia Olympic : Balod becomes overall champion

Raipur, India : Balod district became overall champion in division level Chhattisgarhia Olympic. Players of Balod district earned the title of overall champion for their excellent sports performance in various competitions under the divisional level Olympics organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Purai of Durg division. Players of different age groups of Balod displayed their best performance and won maximum 38 gold medals in the divisional level competition. In the competition, Balod has got the first place in the men’s category in various sports in the age group of 0-18 years – Pithul, Sankhali, Gedi race, 100 meter race, long jump and wrestling 50 kg category.
Similarly, apart from second place in Kho-Kho and tug of war and Gilli Danda, Balod district has got third place in wrestling competition in the matches of 51-60 kg category, 61-70 kg category, 71-80 kg category and 80 kg category. . Similarly, under the women’s category, in the pitthul, fugdi, long jump, rope jump and wrestling competition for the age group of 0- to 18 years, Balod stood first in the 40-50 kg, 61-70 kg and 40 kg categories and 51- Got second position in 60 kg and 70 kg categories. Apart from this, Balod has got third place in Kho-Kho and 100 meter race.
Balod Collector Mr. Kuldeep Sharma expressed happiness over becoming the overall champion in the divisional level Chhattisgarhia Olympics this year too, like last year, and extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the participating players of the district.
